Movie collectibles project: the Grand Budapest hotel
This project serves to create a cohesive package for the cult classic "The Grand Budapest Hotel" while containing a disc of the movie, an informational booklet, and collectibles. The packaging itself explores the hotel's illustrious architecture through saturated illustrations and patterns. Through its three collectibles–a Mendl's cake, Mendl's Truck, and a framed "Boy with Apple" print–the audience is taken through the whimsical and chaotic twists and turns of a Wes Anderson narrative.

This project was given a bronze award by the International Design Awards (IDA) 2024 for the “Other Packaging” category in the student section!
The exterior packaging illustrates the hotel during its prime with bright pinks, blues, and detailed architecture.
The interior shelving and interior box reflect the flooring within the hotel itself with intricate patterns painting the lobby.
The collector’s items include:
– Wrapped and framed print of “Boy with Apple”
– Sculpted polymer clay Mendl’s cake
– Wooden toy Mendl’s truck
Included in the collector’s item is a small booklet with information on the characters and movie as well as a DVD and a set of small stickers
